The Lab Rat has existed in various forms and under various names since 1999. It originally started out as a single page with a few pictures as I stumbled my way through learning basic HTML. It spent my college years as "Tanaqui's Page of Useless Information" and gradually grew into the monster we all know and love today. The original Lab Rat is my faithful external 80 gig hard drive which accompanied me to many a class. The phrase Lab Rat Tango came in to being as a metal working sample. I had to produce a variety of samples utilizing certain metal working techniques. I needed text for the sample of stamped lettering and for some reason the phrase "lab rat tango" popped into my head (there're lots of chemicals in the air in the metals studio). I liked the combination of words and recently I decided to make up a neat little site map for Useless Info and change the name to The Lab Rat Tango. I taught myself HTML over the past eight years through dissecting websites, basic HTML FAQ sites, and through frequent consultations with HTML For Dummies. I do not use HTML editors. All pages are handwritten on Notepad, or for pages with large quantities of text, in MS Word for easy spell checking. This site is strictly for my amusement and to embarrass family and friends. I have no agenda and nothing of substance will ever be shown or discussed here. Through the site map you will find links to my model horse collection, the photo album, and my art portfolio. All pictures are taken by me, except for the pregnant Tracey costume, my graduation pictures, when I'm in the photo, or where otherwise noted. All art work is my original creation. This site is formatted specifically for my own monitor and system, not for the inferior equipment of the huddled masses (I'm almost kidding). The pages are still very much under construction. For those of you with known pictures in the black mail section, they're not gone, they will be loaded and you will feel shame, or something. I am a 2005 graduate of the University of North Texas. I majored in Visual Arts Studies with a minor in Education. I taught K-5 Art for one year in Spring ISD, Houston, Tx at Burchett Elementary. Summer of 2006 I moved to Phoenix, Az where I taught K, 5-8 Art in the mornings at Rio Vista Elementary and K-4 Art in the afternoons at Copper King Elementary for Pendergast ISD. I am currently in Houston and considering a MFA to go with my equally useful BFA. I am owned by two absolutely spoiled cats. I love to do most forms of art. My current focus is on drawing and painting as most apartments frown on the use of blowtorches on the grounds. I love to read anything and everything. I'm extremely fond of music and horses, as I'm sure you'll notice if you go to the model horse section of the site. With so much changing on my site, one thing has to stay the same, Morgie's picture in a prominent spot with the original text. Isn't family great? This is my little cousin, Morgan. When I took this picture, I promised (read as threatened) to put this picture on my web page and here it is, much to her chagrin. Frankly, I'm surprised she allows me to live. ![]()
